Maybelline’s The Colossal Volum’ Express Mascara Review

From the title I think you can tell what it is was but I’l tell you anyways, it was Maybelline’s The Colossal Volum’ Express. It was pretty cheap (7.49) so I thought what the hay, extra bonus was the super cute bottle!

After getting home and I putting it on, and the first thing I noticed was that this mascara was BLACK. Like midnight no stars or moon black. So it’s definitely a night mascara. Second thing I noticed was how full and long my lashes were looking, they were huge! The last thing I noticed? The flakes on my lashes and the rub off. At the end of the day I came home to find big smudges under my eyes, so not cool.

Pros-
  • Dramatic, perfect for night.
  • Adds so much volume and length.
  • Smells like… nothing.
  • Cute bottle
Cons-
  • Dramatic, too black for day.
  • Leaves flakes on my lashes.
  • Rubs off easily.
  • Difficult to take off.
**** 4 out of 5 stars.

Should you buy this product- If you want drama, the Yes.

Lady gaga, before and after fame.

Lady Gaga, she seems to be the only thing the media can talk about now a days. But, was she always so, I don’t know, crazy? The answer may surprise you.
Truthfully, she was always sort of crazy in her music and dress. Here’s an old picture of her before she was really actually famous.

Back before she was famous and her name was Joanne Stefani Germanotta, she did still dress very sparingly, but nothing compared to how she dresses now. With her blond cropped hair and her almost pantless wardrobe, she is majorly differnt from the way she dressed back then.
And here’s a more recent pic of Lady Gaga.

Wow. Just plain wow. You see the difference? Bra and panties with chains goes to exploding bra and studded swimsuit ( Is it even a swimsuit? I don’t know what it’s called!).
So know your Lady Gaga, before and after she was famous.

The new lipstick I'm in love with.

I know my last post had to do with another makeup (Cargo Essential Eyeshadow Palette) but I’m really in love with this one too! It’s called Botanical Lipstick by Cargo.
It’s all natural and $2 out of each sale will go to St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital. But that’s not the only thing awesome about it. It gives great shine and sparkle and great moister. My lips are like the desert, but this lipstick made my lips like the rain forest (I know bad analogy but still… the lipstick is very moisturizing!) The shade I got was ‘Sarah’ (or ’shimmering pink pearl’) and I think it is universaly hot on everyone, so if you wanted to to try a color, I suggest that one. There are 17 shades to choose from though, so if you don’t like that one don’t worry. The final price is $2o. But, if your willing to find a Sephora masterclass called, ‘7 in 7′ you can get it for free. I was casualy browsing Sephora when I stumbled across the class and got a sampler bag with the lipstick in it. But even if your not as lucky as me and need to pay full price, I think it is an investment you won’t regret.

DIY- rice water toner.

Rice water as a toner, sounds crazy right? But a couple weeks ago I saw this video on youtube, and have been hooked ever since. It makes my skin smoother, softer, reduces redness, evens out my skin tone, and even helps get rid of pimples and black heads. Want to make your own magical rice water? Read more below.

How to make it
1.Take a small handful of natural or organic rice, and put it in a small bowl.
Next add hot water, so they’re is around half an inch of water above the rice.
2. Stir the water and rice with a straw until the water is cloudy
How to use it as a toner.
1.After the water is cloudy you can pour it out in to a small container, or leave it in the bowl.
2.Take the water and put a little on a cotton ball or any other applier of choice, and then apply like any other toner.
How to use it as a face mask.
1.Take a paper napkin and cut it till it’s the size or your face. Add eye, mouth, and nose holes.
2.Fold it up and soak it in the rice water.
3.Take it out of the water and squeeze out any extra liquid.
4.Place on face and go lie down some where for 10-15 mins.
I dare you to try it, and soon you’ll love it to!

The boho bun.

Now I know that there are a lot of cool up-dos out there but I think I have found the easiest and chicest look out there, and I'm here to share it with you. This hair style is perfect for working out at the gym (hey, you deserve to be cute all the the time!) or a fancy dinner, basically, this hair style is perfect for anything!

I call it, The Boho Bun.

Before I start a would like to say that this look is only if you can pull your hair back into a bun. Sorry short hair people, but don't worry a post about short hair is coming soon.

Step one, take two pieces from either side of the front of your head. (in between your ears and your forehead.) Braid those two pieces into two braids and leave them, they will come in handy later.

Step two, gather your hair into a tight, high bun. Make sure the front is smoothed back by brushing it with long strokes as you make the bun.

Step three, take the two braids you made earlier and bring them over the top of your head. Wrap the two braids around the base of your bun and pin.

Ta da, you have a totally chic and easy hair-do!

3 recession worthy rules.

Attention all shopaholics! I have some rules that will help you survive this recession! (without dieing in the process). I know that everyone has said that they were going to cut back, but actually cutting back, that was the hard part. My body works in a certain way (don't worry it's nothing weird!) I need to go shopping at least once a month just to keep on going. But shopping isn't the problem, it's the ooooh-it's-so-cute-I-have-to-buy-it 50 dollar over budget shirt that gets me in the end. So how do I keep shopping without going broke? Find out below!

1.When you enter a store go up to the counter and ask were the clearance items are, don't look at anything until you're in the clearance section, this will save you those pricey must-haves that we all hate so much.

2.Make sure you really love what your going to buy. Don't make an impulse buy, in order to avoid these check to make sure it fits where it should, so you don't go home and realize it's unflattering.

3.Don't bring your credit card and leave Mr. Franklin at home, that way it will be hard to extend to the 40 dollar range.

Follow those rules and you will end up with better bargains, better things, and most importantly more money!

The BEST nail polish color for toes.

Before I begin my post I would like to say this idea was given to me via one of my comments, so comment! Tell me what you would like to know! Ask questions, make suggestions, anything goes (as long as it's not mean of course)!

Sick and tired of plain, nail-polish-less toes? Don't want to pick the wrong color (even though removing it is easy)? Who isn't? But which color's the best? Hmmm...

Guess what? There are 2 'best colors'!

1. The first 'best color' is something you might not expect, baby blue. But not shimmery, mermaid-y blue, matte almost-frosty blue. It's a great base for designs, and looks great on short as well as long nails. Plus it works year-round, so you don't have to switch out nail polishes if you're feeling lazy

2. The second 'best' nail color is also light. It's light, slightly beige, matte pink. Matte colors are very in this fall, and this pink is no different. It also works great for fingers. (So does the blue.)

So get ready for fabulous toes, because now you know which colors are the best.

Make your own lipstain!

Lip stain is great for summer because on like other products ( *cough* Lipstick *cough) it actually stays on. So if you’re swimming, you can still have great looking lips. But lip stains only great if it doesn’t break the bank, so how do you get long lasting, great looking, cheap lip stain? You make it! Here’s a recipe for all natural, all fabulous, lip stain.

.3 or 4 raspberries.
.1 spoonful of olive oil.

Not very long is it? And it’s easy to mix! Just mash up the raspberries and add olive oil for a great lip stain.

Added bonus! Because the lip stains made from raspberries, it not only looks great, but smells and taste great too!

Makeup + you = FABULOUS (10 reasons why you should wear makeup)

Do you like going bare?(no, i don't mean nude!)Well I have10 reasons why you shouldn't!

1.Some studies have shown that putting on makeup makes you less clumsy!(you'd have to be a fricken' acrobat not to need that!)
2.It makes you prettier, I don't care if bare is in, a little makeup never hurt anyone.
3.It can make you more confident (even though notice else but you can see that microscopic pimple!)
4.It can help get you noticed, I mean who doesn't notice the girl in the neon green eyeshadow?
5.It can make boys like you, I know it's shallow but it works.
6.It kind help your skin (Bye bye wrinkles!)
7.Bronzer is a great alternitive to tanning, so technicly makeup helps you stay skin cancer free.
8.Keeps your lips from being chapped, I mean come on, you doesn't love a great moisterising gloss?
9.Makeup parties are a great activity for a girls night in, you just can't go wrong.
10. And last but not least, makeup can make you feel more beutiful, and that's all that matters in the end.

So rock that makeup, and know why you should.

Cherry lipstain, this falls best lip color.

Want to know what to wear on your lips this fall? u can push y0ur gloss and lipstick to the bottom of your makeup drawer, becaues lipstain is the lip product of choice. But not just any color lip stain, try cherry.
Yes I’m talking about lipstain, but if you want to rock lipstain you need to learn the secrets of the trade. First of all, lipstain never goes on even, it leaves blotchy dark spots, and weird light spots. To avoid this rub your lipstain in after you apply it, and remember to check in the mirror before you go out to save from stained skin too. Secondly make sure you pick a good lipstain to avoid rub off. Try out last lipstain. I wore it at a the beach this summar and it lasted through dinner and swimming. Wow is right. But the perfect color for this fall is cherry. Make it darker in the middle of lips and gently lighten it out form there.
So wear it right this summar with cheery lipstain.
So wear it right this fall, will lipstain.

An easy diet, the raw sugar diet.

Now there are many diets out there that have a lot of planning going into them like only eating a certain amount of calories and what not but with diet you don’t have to count calories or eat salad, all  you have to do is not eat refined sugar. You can still have sugar but it can be refined white sugar it has to be as some like to call it, raw sugar. Raw sugar is made up of big (approximately 1/4 of a centimeter)chunks of light brown sugar, just don’t confuse it with brown sugar because they have distinctly different flavors. So were can you find this raw sugar? Well there is a brand that sells it and it’s called (the suspense builds!) ‘Sugar in the raw’ . They come in packets and containers and I have seen some at Starbucks but never at Dunkin’ donuts. So grab a packet of  ‘ sugar in the raw’ and make your way to a  slimmer, sexier, healthier you.

P.S. My favorite drink that is made with unrefined sugar is Honest Tea’s, Black Forest Berry. It’s refreshing, and with only 60 calories a bottle, it must have been made in heaven.

How to choose the perfect shade of blush.

I’ve had bad hair days, I’ve had bad clothes days, but more then anything, I’ve had bad blush days. You know those days when you put on blush that’s too red and you and up looking like you’ve been sitting on the beach for days without sun screen? Or the days you put on blush that’s too pink and you end up looking like a barbie doll? Well don’t worry because after reading this post your days of ugly blushing will be over!

Bright pinks are perfect for dark skin (a.k.a. olive to ash) so if you have dark skin you can wear cotton candy pinks! There so light, so cute, and so fresh, they work perfectly for work, a night, out or just feelin’ pretty at home.

Next we have the dark red blush that can be used, if used in moderation. The perfect skin type for this blush is all of them! Depending on how much you apply it can be used on the fairest skin, to the darkest skin.

Last but not least, we have the dark chocolate blushes. These are the most dangerous blushes out there because they are very hard to use. Think of them as bronzers, just a little too much and you look like a fool, so to save everone some time and trouble I would just say, don’t use them. They are confusing and easy to mess up so you should stay away.

Now that you’re a blush experts go and buy your perfect shade and wear it like it’s going out of style. (Which it never will because well, blush rocks.)

DIY facial.

Facial are an essential part of keeping your face clean and glowing, but they are costly (what isn’t these days?) and some can hurt like face peels. So I have discovered the perfect DIY (do it yourself) facial.

First, take a shower, feeling clean and beautiful makes the whole experience nicer. Also the steam in the shower helps open up your pores so they can release dirt and grime that can cause pimples.

After getting out of the shower run a wash cloth under hot water and rub the wash cloth on your face, this also helps to open up pores.

After applying the washcloth use a facial scrub. You can easily make one by putting honey (if you can, use Manuka honey, it has special healing properties) and sugar into a bowl and mixing, easy as pie, right? Then put the scrub on your face and move your hands in slow circular movements, this opens the pores and takes out all the dirt and washes it away.

Wash the scrub off with warm water. After the scrub completely washes off, take a handful of honey (once again, preferably Manuca honey) and put it evenly on to your face. This soothes skin that might have been irritated by the scrub and also moisturizes. Leave the honey on for at least 30 minutes. My favorite pastime during this is to paint my nails, that way when your completely finished with your facial, you’ll have beautiful nails too.

Only paint your toenails, because if you paint your nails you might rub off the polish when removing the honey. I find that after this whole experience my skin is left soft and surprisingly smooth, and that I am also calm and relaxed. This treatment is perfect for a night in with friends or a mother/daughter bonding experience.

The oversized T.

T-shirts are great, but do you want to know what’s greater? Over sized T-shirts. They can be difficult, sometimes looking too sloppy, but if done right, they can be totally chic and modern. When wearing an over sized T-shirt make sure it’s very over sized. So get an extra large instead of a medium, even if you’re an extra small! If you wear anything less it will just look sloppy.

When choosing an over sized T-shirt, make sure it’s something bright and happy, a perfect place to get bright happy and cheap ( very important!) over sized T-shirts is Old Navy. They have a wide range of clothes, so while getting a T-shirt get a matching bag too!

To keep the over sized T-shirt from looking sloppy wear it with skinny jeans. If you wore a baggy jeans and an over sized T-shirt you would like you just rolled out of bed (in a bad way). And lastly, the most important rule of all: always belt your over sized T-shirt. If want your over sized T-shirt to look like a short dress, belt it at the waist. If you want it to look like a T-shirt belt it loosely so the belt falls slightly above your hips. This new trend is totally hip, casual, and chic, and after reading this post, totally you.

Another good place to find scarves is Gap.

All of these scarves are available at gap womans for under $30.

So grab a scarf and be prepared to look AWSOME.

How to get smooth soft lips.

High gloss, high shine lips are all that this summer. But gloss doesn’t look to hot on chapped, wrinkled lips. So, how do you keep your lips smooth and soft? You exfoliate.

I know exfoliating your lips doesn’t sound like too much fun, but it actually is painless and easy. Cover your lips in lip balm and rub in. Now, take your toothbrush and rub the bristles (gently) on you lips. It might feel a little uncomfortable but as long as you don’t rub for too long, you’ll be fine. Wash the lip balm off and then apply a thinner, more conservative layer. Tada, you have smooth, gloss ready lips.

Comment! How do you keep your lips smooth? Do you exfoliate or do something else? Tell!
